Tenant of Faith
1) The Bible Is Inspired By God
The scriptures of the entire Bible are verbally inspired of God. The scriptures are God ‘s Word and the way of revealing himself to humankind. They are infallible (never wrong), and they are divinely authoritative guide for our faith, belief, and way of living. ( 2 Timothy 3:15-17, 2 Peter 1:21)
2) There Is One True God
There is one true God. God has further revealed himself as a single Being consisting of three interrelated persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This concept of one God or Being of three persons is called the Trinity or Godhead. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, Luke 3:22)
3) The Lord Jesus Christ is Fully God
The Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, has always existed. He was totally God and Man at the same time. He lived a perfect sinless life and became the perfect sacrifice for our sins, paying the price for our atonement as Savior. He was resurrected from the dead and ascended into heaven sitting on the right hand of God. (Philippians 2:9-11, Hebrews 1:3, Matthew 1:23)
4) Fall of Man into Sin
Man was created good and upright in the image and likeness of God. Man out of his freewill disobeyed God by eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. As a result, humankind fell from innocence and goodness and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. (Genesis 1:26-27, 2:17, 3:6, Romans 5:12-19)
5) Salvation Through Jesus
Salvation is deliverance from spiritual death and enslavement by sin. God provides salvation for all who believe and accept His free offer of forgiveness. Humankind’s only hope of redemption from the fallen sinful state is through the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son. His blood that was shed as He died on the cross. Salvation is received as a person 1) repents before God for their sins and sinful nature or inclinations and 2) believe or has faith in the fact that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ removes and brings forgiveness for their sin.
6) Our Church Ordinances
Our church chooses to call water baptism and Holy Communion ordinances because they are religious practices ordained and established by Jesus Christ himself. The ordinance of baptism by immersion in water as commanded in the Scripture. All who repent and believe on Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord are to be baptized. We believe all believers are to partake in Holy Communion remembering the sufferings and death of Our Lord Jesus Christ until He come back again for the saints. (Mark 16:16, Matthew 28:19, Acts 10:47-48, Romans 6:4 and 1 Corinthians 11:26)
7) Baptism in the Holy Ghost
All believers are entitled to receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit, and therefore should expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 1:4,8, Luke 24:49)
8) Speaking in Tongues as Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit
The baptism in the Holy Spirit is accompanied by initial physical sign of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit of God gives them the ability. (Acts 2:4, 1 Corinthians 12:4-10, 28)
9) Sanctification is a Process That Aligns Us with God
Sanctification is an act of separating ourselves from evil and aligning with things that are good, upright, and morally pure. Sanctification is a daily acknowledgement of our union with God through His Son Jesus. (Romans 12:1-2, 1 Peter 1:15-16)
10) The Church’s Mission and Purpose
The church is Christ’s body, the habitation of God and exists for a fourfold purpose:
a. Evangelize the world
b. Worship God together
c. Build a body of saints being perfected in the image of Christ
d. Demonstrate God’s love and compassion for all the world
(Hebrews 12:23, Ephesians 1:22-23, 2:22)
11) The Church is a Divinely Called and Scripturally Ordained Ministry
These ministers are specifically appointed to lead the church in the fulfillment of the fourfold purpose. (Ephesians 4:11,16, Mark 16:15-20)
12) Divine Healing is a Key Part of the Gospel
Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
(Isaiah 53:4-5, James 5:14-16)
13) Blessed Hope, the Rapture of the Saints
The resurrection of those who have died as believers in Christ along with the translation of those who are alive so they will be with the Lord Jesus Christ forever. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, 1 Corinthians 15:51-52)
14) The Millennial Reign of Our Lord Jesus Christ
The visible return of Christ to rule on earth with the saints for a thousand years follows the rapture of the church. (Isaiah 11:6-9, Revelation 19:11-14)
15) Final Judgement
The wicked dead will be raised from the dead and judged according to their works. Those whose name are not found in God’s book of life will be thrown into the lake of fire forever. (Matthew 25:46, Mark 43-48)
16) New Heaven and New Earth
A new heavens and a new earth are promised in the Bible for the redeemed in Christ. (2 Peter 3:13, Revelation 21,22)
