Passing The Test
Psalms 105:17-19 ( NKJV )
17 He sent a man before them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave. 18 They hurt his feet with fetters, He was laid in irons. 19 Until the time that his word came to pass, The word of the Lord tested him.
Remember back during your school days when you thought you knew the subject of study very well until the exam. The examination tested your knowledge level of the subject in questioned. It showed whether you were satisfactory or failed to know the material. Just like in school we don’t know where we are at spiritually until the test comes to try our faith. Trials come to show how mature we are in Christ proving our true character.
In the scripture text, Joseph was placed in a pit and sold into slavery by his brothers because they envied him for his dream and favor from his father (Jacob). Later Joseph was put into prison before becoming the prime minister of Egypt. The time of suffering until he became second in command next to the King, God tested Joseph to see if he would keep the faith.
Just as the Lord tested Joseph, He also tested you to see if you will keep the faith. What you do and how you act during the time between your prayer and the answered blessing is critical. Do you murmur and complain or trust God in faith? Trusting God involves waiting on him until your change come. The trials of life test your confidence in God word to see how much patience you have to maintain in spite of circumstances.
God’s word is true and will come to pass just hold on to your faith. You can pass the test!
